“Theatre at its finest! … Absurdly enjoyable! This gleefully theatrical riff on Hitchcock’s film is fast and frothy”
—New York Times

The 39 Steps
Chick, Ella, NINETEEN and Juanita
Years ago, Nineteen collaborated with Tabard on a musical – “Stompin at the Savoy”. Well the legendary “Savoy” was home to one of the hottest bands in jazz history – the “Chick Webb Orchestra.” Nineteen is pleased to welcome vocalist Juanita Harris as we perform the original arrangements that Chick himself wrote for the Savoy! This concert will be a “blast from the past ” and dancing IS encouraged. Also – I would get seats now as this one will surely sell out.

Looking Over the President’s Shoulder
March 13–April 5
When Alonzo Fields accepted a job as a butler at the White House in 1931, his plan was to work there for the winter. That winter lasted 21 years. Based on the real-life story of the grandson of a freed slave who grew up in an all-black town in southern Indiana, James Creer brings to life Fields’ story in this compelling play that takes Fields from giving up his dreams of becoming an opera singer to becoming Chief Butler at the White House.
Looking Over the President’s Shoulder is told from the unique perspective of the Chief Butler who served four U.S. presidents and their families, from Hoover to Eisenhower. As Fields says in the play, written by James Still: “It was like being in the front row and watching the passing parade of history….”
“This one-man show is at once warm, thought-provoking and inspiring … I cannot recommend this play strongly enough. It is a timeless story for all ages, a pure joy to see, and a story and performance you will remember long after the curtain falls.” –TriCities.com

Born in India, it is only when lonely orphan Mary Lennox is sent to her uncle’s isolated Yorkshire estate that her real adventures begin. By peeling away layers of sadness that cover the house and garden, Mary emerges from her darkness to blossom, as she shows us the power that “one small girl” has when she “wants things to grow.”
“Elegant, entrancing.” –Time
