Kids’ Summer Camps

Places, please! Get ready for on-stage fun with Tabard’s Summer Theatre camps! Kids will learn about all the things that go into making a theatrical show and engage in a fun range of theatrical activities, including movement, improv, puppeteering, costumes, sets and MORE!

June 15-19 —Theatre Adventures Summer Camp (Ages 7 to 12)

Places, please! Get ready for on-stage fun with Tabard’s Summer Theatre Adventures! Kids will learn about all the things that go into making a theatrical show and engage in a fun range of theatrical activities, including movement, improv, puppeteering, costumes, sets and MORE! At the end of the week, campers will give the gift of theatre to friends and family in a half-hour streamed presentation or pre-recorded Online Presentation on the afternoon of the last day of camp which all families, & performers can watch from the safety of their homes.

Bring a sack lunch, snack and beverage. Each campers food/beverage will be placed in an individual XL Ziplock by the camper and refrigerated until needed. Only the camper will be in contact with the contents.

Note: Campers may not enroll in consecutive weeks of camp. Cleaning, sanitizing, and operating procedures have been updated in compliance with the CDC & Santa Clara Health Dept. Camp structures have changed for everyone’s safety. Complete updated procedures will be provided to families prior to the first day of camp. Each camp session ends with a Final Showcase performance. Online site/link TBD.

Our camps focus on a processed-based education in the performing arts. With this philosophy, we limit camp size to a minimum of 5 campers, maximum of 12 campers.

Cancellations: Cancellations within 5 days of the start date of a camp session are non-refundable. Deadline for refund requests is 11 days prior to first day of camp and have a $75 non-refundable registration fee.

Exchanges: Camp registration may be exchanged for another 2020 camp session through Tabard’s Audience Services at 408-679-2330 with 48-hour advance notice, subject to availability. A $5.00 exchange fee per order will be charged.
Siblings: Campers who are just outside the age range for a camp may be considered if they have a sibling attending the same camp. Please inquire.

July 6-10— Summer Audition Prep for Teens (Grades 9 to 12)

High schoolers, this is the class for you! Get prepared for upcoming local auditions, college auditions & professional casting calls! You will learn how to find, select and develop the perfect audition monologue, learn the ins and outs of self-taping at home, get instruction on creating or improving your headshot and resume, plus many other tips and tricks for auditions. We will also learn microphone voice-over techniques, and at the end of the week use what you have learned to create a self-recorded virtual presentation, featuring popular scenes from TV & film! Put your best self forward at every audition once you’ve learned what to expect in the audition room and how to capture yourself on camera to best showcase your talent.

July 13-17 — ‘It’s Showtime’ Summer Camp (Grades 6 to 8)

At Tabard Theatre’s “It’s Showtime!” Summer Camp students will learn what it takes to put on a show…virtually! Students will learn hands-on what it takes to put on a show in one week! Going in-depth into character work, monologues, and scene breakdowns, students will work with their Director to produce a virtual presentation. At the end of their week at the theatre, Students will be able to invite family and friends to view the presentation, all while performing in the comfort and safety of their own homes. The show will be devised in-process with the students, and will possibly be a collection of stories, poems, and monologues. Students will also play theatre games, and participate in exercises designed to help them adapt to the new virtual playing space.
